In our aluminum polishing, we reduce scrap - Our robot and automatic polishing processes use calculated material removal to reduce scrap caused by pitting, breakout or polishing error. Most castings have a very small layer of good material which is critical to find to produce good parts. Once the layer is broken, porosity continues to worsen. These automatic and robotic polishing processes create very consistent results.
Common finishes for aluminum polishing:
• Mirror: #7, #8
• Brushed: #4, #6
• Prep for paint or powder coat
• Prep for chrome
• Prep for anodize
In many cases, we provide a buffed finish prior to coating instead of the traditional belted finish. Through automation, we can offer great pricing and you start with a much higher quality surface. The smooth mirror surface allows you to easily inspect prior to the coating process with no grit lines to worry about showing through your coating.
